Fillings
When a tooth develops decay (called a cavity), there are a variety of ways to remove it and replace that portion of the tooth. The easiest and least-harmful to your teeth is to place a filling or restoration. We offer silver (amalgam) restorations and also the more common, composite, tooth-colored fillings.
Dr. Madsen is skilled in the placement of tooth-colored fillings, made of composite resin. The benefits to these over the amalgam include:
-They blend with the natural shade of teeth and are practically invisible once they are.
-They allow us to remove less healthy tooth material than metal fillings.
-They bond to the tooth, which reduces the risk of leaking and loose fillings.
-They don’t contain mercury like amalgam fillings.
